Clipper Group are the owners of a commercial building in the hub of Surry Hills, Sydney. They engaged Icon Interiors (Architects & Builders) in conjunction with Conway + Wise to turn the space from a drab unusable area to create a peaceful retreat. The group were seeking to make the 120SQM area a stylish, relaxed and sheltered sanctuary to be used for functions and meetings. The rooftop design was inspired by the owner’s very special piece – a Japanese Urn from the 17th century. Finishes such a beautiful recycled timbers, granite, limestone tiles, and steel were used to compliment soft colour-ways of off white concrete planters and grey concrete walls and table. This city oasis brings every bit of Japanese Zen to the city.
